Mr. Debenham received a bachelore degree from Kansas State University in 1977 and a masters degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in 1980.
He was a Legislative Assistant for then-Congressman Pat Roberts (now Senator Roberts) from 1981 through 1984. After that, he worked at the Kansas Corporation Commission for about 11 years regulating electric, gas and water utilities and later telephone companies.
In 1998, Mr. Debenham began law school at Washburn University School of Law. After graduating in 2000, he went to work for a law firm which specialized in defending banks against lawsuits. Six years later, he went to a general practice law firm where he received experience in several areas of the law. About five years ago, he formed Debenham Law Office, LLC.
